Tea tree oil
It’s an amazing disinfectant. Add a few drops of the oil onto the affected nail.
Apple cider vinegar foot soak
Add a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar to some warm water, and soak your feet in the solution. Apple cider vinegar prevents infections when applied directly on the affected area. Use its antibacterial effect to clean the area, but keep in mind that it can’t heal an existing infection.
Epsom salt bath
Epsom salt baths relieve irritation, disinfect skin, and soften nails. Soak your feet in your regular Epsom salt bath for 20 minutes.
Clean your feet to prevent germs, and apply a dab of antibiotic ointment several times a day. Cover it with a gauze to ward off infections and germs.
Floss and cotton ball
Use your tweezers or floss to lift the nail a bit. Place a sterile cotton ball in the empty area, and make sure it doesn’t cause any pain or discomfort.
